In the middle of the afternoon, Sébastien (UX-Evangelist at UX-Republic) and Adrien (UX-Activist at UX-Republic) sat down in the Honnorat lounge to talk to us about UX-Time Perception.
The room was full, and the faces impatient.
The promise was kept, the feedback unanimous. Congratulations to our two speakers for the research work carried out, the pedagogy and the clarity of their presentation... but also for their communicative good humor.

A little more detailed return to the subject of the intervention…

….In the 80s, Tetris showed its power by captivating players around the world. Millions of children and adults spent hours order the colored bricks. Since 2010, Le Camion qui fume has been enhancing the wait by promising to taste one of the best burgers in the world.
The emotion of tasting a burger is stronger than the difficulty of waiting. Thus, on this tension of promise and expectation, “Uber” has reinvented the Taxi experience by staging the arrival of the vehicle. Likewise, “Deliveroo” writes to us to tell us that our Pad Thai is on its way. And when “Trainline” promises us to buy a train ticket in less than 58 seconds, it keeps our attention by creating excitement. Desire and promise influence our perception of time.
In the near future, Virtual Reality, Phygital or Artificial Intelligence will disrupt uses and the User Experience (Tim Cook, New Yorker, January 2017). Illustrations, animations, wording will be as many axes of progress for UI & UX.
Thus, through the flexibility of Flow, the Art of conversation and the Emotion of time, our speakers gave us their vision of an approach more oriented towards a design in empathy with time of the user.

To end this day in style, Sébastien Berten, co-founder and president @UXRepublic was invited by the Flupa teams to take part in a round table dedicated to the recruitment of UX profiles.
By his side :

  • Axel Johnson, Associate Director of the Akiani agency
  • Pauline Thomas, UX-Designer and founder of Laptop
  • Pascale Neveu, Deputy Director of the Ynov Paris Campus

The observation is clear: UX profiles are increasingly difficult to recruit. Indeed, companies are now fully aware of the added value of user-centered design approaches and are seeking to collect the necessary skills to support them in these new objectives.
At UX-Republic, we rely heavily on the strong cohesion and expertise of our employees to enable them to evolve personally and professionally.

An employee who loves what he does and who can improve his skills is an employee who stays.

Through masterclasses (proposed voluntarily by the UX-Republicans on a specific subject), our UX-Days (in which our employees attend expert interventions in the UX field), or even our meetups Star of UX (organized once a month…), we try to set up a circle of knowledge and virtuous training allowing our UX-Republicans to flourish in what they do.
