We attended the last UX-Day!

Last week took place the 18th edition of the UX-DAY of our little cousins of UX-Republic. Modeled on our JS-Talks, the UX-DAYs are days when all the UX-Republic consultants meet to share around numerous presentations and expert workshops dedicated to UX.

Passionate about development in general and JS in particular, we are also sensitive to Design, and were delighted that the entire JS-Republic team was invited to this event.

This month, Thierry, UX-Activist within UX-Republic, was in charge of organizing this day… And he did pretty well!
The day began with a presentation by Thierry of the detailed program of the various interventions, then it was the turn of the founding partners of UX-Republic to present the objectives to be pursued in 2016.

Then, we were able to listen to several of our UX-Republicans on presentations combining their expertise and their professions….

Empathetic Design

Claire, UX-Activist introduced us to empathetic design, both in the social approach of the user and in the response that we deliver. It is fully part of the interaction design.

The role of the developer in UX

Antoine, UX-Scientist then took over to tell us about the role of the developer in UX. Indeed, through an example of concrete data visualization, Antoine shows us that the developer becomes an essential component of the UX.

Finally, Sarah spoke to us about the GIF, this format which is coming back into fashion somewhat modified and whose history and issues we don't know enough about….

After a hearty lunch break, we were able to attend two workshops in small groups:

  • The Lean Canvas is a workshop whose objective was to make match two famous companies between them and to imagine a product or a service. For example, we had to combine the Tinder applications with those of Nike(+). Once the idea emerged from the team members, we had to define and identify our users and our market.
  • Experience Trigger  (or experience challenger) is a concept created for object designers with the goal of incorporating UX theories to create a memorable design experience for the design team and others. part of making the final products designed by this team more experiential. The objective of the workshop is that several people work on the same interface, each in turn, without communicating, but trying to interpret and respect the work that has been done by the other members of the team.
