InVision has launched the trial version of InVision Studio. The American company's new design and prototyping tool is presented as a tool designed by and for designers.

An all-in-one tool
One soft to rule them all
Unanimously hailed by our trio of experts, the integration of design and advanced prototyping into a single tool.
In the continuity of Adobe Xd, Axure and now Sketch, it is possible to design and animate your screens in a single tool. A saving of time and consequent learning.
Extensive animations
Beyond an ergonomic and user-centric screen design, designers now need to create animations to bring emotion. To this need, Studio also responds.
A tutorial is even integrated to teach you how to build your first animations. The tool is accessible to everyone.
A collaborative tool
InVision (the much-used plug-in) is natively integrated into Studio. Thus, the collaborative mode is present from this trial version.
Our experts expect better than sharing artboards. Maybe a next release towards what Figma offers?
Easy design system
As in Sketch, you can create your symbols and add them to a library. However, this time, there is no need to open a Dropbox or a Google Drive (which will probably not pass the caudine forks of your network security).
A cloud is provided in the tool. Share the link to your project and your team can collaborate on the same library.
One downside: the symbols are still fragile in this version. It is not yet possible to mix two types of transitions. You have to choose between classic and motion.
From Sketch to Studio
It is possible to open your Sketch files in Studio. Very practical for testing the InVision solution.
Areas of progress
The performance of the tool is still limited. A point on which its competitors like Adobe Xd or Sketch are very advanced.
The absence of plugins restricts the use. We hope that the tool will open up to the community and can be increased by different plugins.
A lack of surprises… Our three experts hoped to be surprised or even surprised. This is not the case. It still lacks the “little extra” that will make designers abandon Sketch or Adobe Xd for Studio.
To conclude
Invision has taken a big step in its implementation in the world of Design with Studio. Undeniably, this trial version keeps its promises. We will continue to monitor developments closely. We are convinced that the appearance of this tool will contribute to improving the quality of other solutions on the market. To be continued…
