Among the user-centered methodologies, Lean UX has my favors. I will explain why and how I put it into practice with my clients.

Lean UX, this methodology that will save you.
How to implement Lean UX at your client?
I usually offer my clients this methodology over two weeks by proposing an MVP (minimum viable product). LEAN UX allows us to integrate the different stakeholders from the start. Why is this important? Because our client has a vision of our work: he is part of this work.

To implement this methodology, you need a project team that can make themselves available easily and around 5 to 10 working days depending on the complexity of your project. We meet the stakeholders, the users and try to reconcile these two parties by best meeting their needs. What more could you dream of? In two weeks we offer them an MVP that meets their expectations.
Concretely, how does this method work?
I will give you the information you need to put your first week of workshops into practice.
One day = one workshop + feedback
The first week you are in the research phase and you will seek to understand:
- What are the business needs?
- Who are our users? What are their needs ? Their expectations?
- What paths are we going to offer them?
- How can we respond to their request?
The second week, It's yours. You have all the balls in hand to start your prototype. Be careful, be sure to clarify the rendering of the prototype with your client according to your design capabilities. Customers may quickly think that you are going to deliver the whole site to them, with all the features in 5 days. Be clear with your client so that he does not get the wrong ideas and is not disappointed at the end of the project.
Workshops explained step by step
I will explain to you, in more detail, the different workshops that you can set up when you start this type of methodology.

#1 – WARM UP
During this workshop, we bring together stakeholders in order to become familiar with the project and its environment to cover the entire scope. We will seek to understand:
- What are the customer needs?
- What are our targets?
- What are the benefits of our tool?
- Who are the competitors and how will we differentiate ourselves?
Thanks to these steps we will align the business visions, succeed in involving the different stakeholders, and come out with a clear business need.
#2 – PERSONS
We will then focus on user needs, by creating our personas in order to acquire knowledge about our targets. As a reminder, a persona is a fictitious individual who represents the typical profile of a user. We're going to be interested in :
- Its context of use
- Her goals
- The tasks he will carry out today
- Its scenarios of future uses
Do not forget to humanize our persona by giving him:
- A name
- A first name
- A photo
- A verbatim
This is the small step that you can keep at the end in order to close the workshop.
#3 – USER SCENARIOS
During this workshop, we put ourselves in the shoes of the user in order to visualize in which situation he will use our tool.
- What will be his goals to achieve?
- Through what features?
- For what result?
#4 – IDEATION / SKETCHING
These two phases will be used to generate ideas in order to reflect on the form that our product will take. We can put aside the design and put forward the multitude of ideas. The more you have, the more ideas you can bring to light. The purpose of this workshop is to know in which direction we are going to go for our product.
#5 – PROTOTYPE
The prototype phase is undoubtedly the one most expected by your client. It will allow you to put all your thoughts from the first week to music and show something concrete to the various stakeholders.
For this phase, you must use a tool that you master. You don't have time to waste learning software. For my part, I had to get used to using Axure during different projects. It is a very powerful tool, it allows you to easily give dynamism to your interfaces, to generate an HTML page, and especially to propose a prototype close to what your client will have in the end.
There are of course a lot of tools to build prototypes. Here are some articles that might interest you:

You now have all the information to successfully carry out your Lean UX project.
You buy ? U.S. too !
In conclusion, the advantage of this methodology:
- She's efficient.
- Inexpensive for your customer.
- Lets have a rapid prototype of your product.
- Allows correct potential errors.
- Fact evolve your product easily and efficiently.
Now you know why I like this methodology and why it can be achievable when a client wants to have a quick and quality result.
