Ongoing training is essential, we understand that! [Part 2]

We all want to evolve in an environment where we are constantly learning, rather than in an environment where nothing is happening.

When you stop learning, you gradually lose your expertise, and therefore your value and therefore your long-term employability.

The value of continuing employee training is therefore an issue for the company as well as for the employees.. At JS-Republic we have understood it well, continuing education in accompanied self-training or in classic training is in the DNA of the company.
We talked last week about the Scrum Master and Scrum PO training and certification of our collaborators, as well as the master-classes. Here I am going to detail three other mechanisms that we are implementing: Meetups, foundations and JS-Talks.

JS-Talks and Foundations:

Once a month, we free up a whole day to only share and learn among ourselves. On that day, generally the 3rd Thursday of each month, the whole company meets at the agency for an entire day where it is forbidden to work on client projects.
In the programme : Breakfast, Presentation of the partners on the orientations of the company and the novelties, 3 or 4 presentations of our volunteer experts on subjects of anticipation or feedback.
After a lunch all together, we work in the afternoon by small self-organized and self-managed groups: the foundations.
The day ends with a presentation of the work of each of the foundations, then we all leave together, at the end of the day to see an exhibition in Paris… at the start of the evening we all meet for an aperitif dinner.
After this day, we all grew and learned a lot, and in particular we got to know each other better.

Meetups:

The JS-Stars meetups that we organize in our premises become an institution. Usually held once a month, they bring together between 50 and 100 people. These Meetups are an opportunity for us to meet the community and for our JS-Republicans to confront it by presenting expert topics on Javascript.
In general, a JS-Republican will work on his subject, he will practice presenting it during an internal JS-Talk, then present it in Meetup, he will then be ready to present it during conferences such as DotJS for example (This year JS-Republic is official sponsor of DotJS). You can find out more about our Meetups here  !
Through the two articles on internal training at JS-Republic, we hope to have shown you that for us, the training of our employees is a promise kept, not just something that we put forward during recruitment, but something that makes sense and that we have placed as a pillar of the company since day one and that we hold dear.
